Your
first appointment will be a thorough examination and consultation.
This will include a soft tissue exam where we look for any
abnormalities that may be of concern. Your examination may
include a series of radiographs. A clear explanation of
our findings will be given and treatment alternatives will
be discussed. Once a treatment plan has been established,
your appointment sequence to treat your specific problem
will be set up. Financial arrangements will be discussed
at your first visit, or during a subsequent consultation.
We
perform all aspects of periodontal treatment which includes
the following:
- Comprehensive
examination and treatment planning.
- Scaling
and root planing: Which is the removal of calculus (tartar)
from the necks of the teeth and below the gum line.
- Non-surgical
chemotherapeutic treatment: The
placement of antibacterial medicine below the gumline that
kills off the bacteria associated with gum disease.
- Surgical
treatment including bone grafting and guided tissue regeneration:
These advanced techniques help restore the bone that has
been lost to periodontal disease.
- Occlusal
equilibration: (bite adjustment) To reduce or eliminate
excessive forces on the teeth which can lead to the breakdown
of the teeth, supporting structures and temporomandibular
joint (TMJ) disease.
- Surgical
treatment to improve aesthetics:
Many patients develop gum recession around crown margins.
This can cause an unsightly "black line" at the
gumline. In addition, many patients have an uneven contour
of the gumline which can adversely affect their appearance.
These conditions can be corrected to create a more favorable
aesthetic contour.
- Surgical
placement of implants: Please refer to our section regarding
implantology.
- Comprehensive
maintenance to keep your gums healthy: Long
term success is achieved with professional maintenance as
well as diligent home care.
- Invisalign®: Now
there is a new way to straighten teeth without braces. Invisalign®
uses a series of nearly undetectable aligners instead of
brackets and wires. We now offer this technology in our
office as a way of correcting anterior crowding of teeth
or closing gaps and spaces between teeth for a more aesthetic
smile.
The
office is open from 8:30 to 5:30 Monday through Friday.
In addition, we now offer treatment Monday evenings 5:30 -
8:30.
