Dental Implants offer a permanent solution to missing teeth. For over 30 years dental implants have brought naturally beautiful, confident smiles to patients. A dental implant is a small titanium screw or cylinder which is surgically placed in the upper or lower jawbone. This material is the same that is used in hip or joint replacement procedures and is well tolerated by the human body. The implant replaces the root of the missing tooth or teeth, providing an anchorage for your new tooth/teeth. With implants, chewing and speech are restored or improved and a permanent natural appearance is achieved. Whether you are missing one or all of your teeth, implants allow you to enjoy your favorite foods and have the confidence you desire for an active professional and social life.

An implant consultation is the first step to achieving a successful result. The procedure will be clearly explained by Dr. Melnick. He may request a CT scan to be performed by a radiologist prior to the procedure to give an accurate view of the jaw bone. On this first visit impressions may also be taken to prepare a surgical stent, which is used as a guide during the implant placement to ensure exacting results. A review of the treatment plan alternatives will also be outlined so that you fully understand the treatment options to enable you to make an educated choice. There is always communication with your general dentist so that your treatment is coordinated. Using the above exacting standards, we have achieved highly successful surgical results.
